Eyecare Opticians was established to provide local, comprehensive, independent eye care to the community of Ham and surrounding areas. As a husband and wife team we are dedicated to ensuring continuity of care and outstanding levels of service. Hence, we assign you your own individual optometrist (one of us) to see to your eye care needs on each visit.
Regular eye examinations are not just about prescriptions and glasses but are vital in detecting any underlying health issues. FREE NHS SIGHT TEST AT HOME
If you have difficulty getting to a high street optician without assistance, you could be eligible for a free NHS sight test at home.
We use the latest portable diagnostic equipment to bring the modern consulting room to the comfortable and familiar surroundings of your own home.
The way a sight test is carried out is governed by law. A sight test will identify:
- What your level of vision is
- Whether you need glasses to correct your sight
- Your eyes and the area around them will be examined, to look for signs of injury, disease or abnormality.
Even if you do not think you need glasses, as you get older it becomes even more important to have your eyes examined regularly.
Conditions like Glaucoma, Cataract, Diabetes and other age related conditions can adversely affect your vision and often develop slowly meaning they may go unnoticed until serious damage has been done.
However, the good news is that most conditions can be treated successfully if detected early enough. It’s recommended that adults have their eyes tested every two years, unless their optician advises them to have a sight test more often than that.
